With your attendance, your child will embrace, explore, and experience a variety of art materials, new textures, improve fine motor skills, and enjoy being creative in a hands on setting. Children will be able to smear, squeeze, splatter and discover different art materials. We will introduce exciting new themes that include paint, sculpting paint, sculpting dough, crayons, chalk, and collage. Get ready for a messy good time!
"Pre-School Sensory Art" classes are a fun way to introduce a preschool based art environment to your little ones and spend time with them too! We will meet twice a week, for 1 hour. StoryTime Art will include reading a story together during circle time followed by creating an art project that is themed around the book. All of our projects focus on developing fine motor skills, learning colors, shapes and introducing them to art materials. These classes are designed to get the parent/guardian involved in helping the child so we will do harder projects that will take a joint effort to create. Adult participation required.
Art is a natural activity to support this free play in children. The freedom to explore different materials in an organic and unstructured way allows for exploration and experimentation. These artistic endeavors and self-directed explorations are not only fun, but educational as well. Art allows youth to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning. Through this program together you and your child will benefit from the early exposure of their education while impacting their development through creative self expression.
